Data protection on the ZVV website
Principles
The Zurich Public Transport Authority ZVV attaches great importance to protecting your personal data and to ensuring confidentiality and security. This Privacy Policy applies to the ZVV’s website – www.zvv.ch. In principle, visitors should be able to use the website without submitting personal information. Personal data are only entered, stored, processed and used if you wish to submit personal feedback. Additionally the Privacy Policy of ZVV-Contact applies to ticket orders made via the Ticket Shop on www.zvv.ch. Processing of personal data on this website is governed by the Law on the Information and Privacy (IDG) of the Canton of Zurich.
We only hold the following personal data submitted directly by clients in order to be able to respond effectively to their feedback: surname, first name, address, title, telephone and fax number, e-mail addresses, date, time and reason for getting in touch, as well as company name(s) where relevant. Where tickets are ordered via the Ticket Shop on www.zvv.ch, the data listed in ZVV-Contact’s Privacy Policy are held.
Data are used exclusively for the stated purpose. Once they have served this original purpose, they are deleted, generally after a maximum of six months. The terms of ZVV-Contact’s Privacy Policy also apply.
So-called “temporary cookies” are used on the ZVV website in order to temporarily store procedures in the computer’s cache. Incomplete or interrupted procedures are not stored. Cookies are deleted as soon as the browser closes. Most internet browsers give users the option to delete cookies from the hard drive, block all cookies, or receive a warning every time a cookie is received. For more information on these functions, consult the user documentation or help file of your browser.
All logfiles are anonymous and are used exclusively for statistical purposes.
Security
The ZVV employs appropriate safeguards and uses security technology to protect your personal data. JavaScript is deployed for optical effects and additional functions. However the majority of the site can also run without JavaScript needing to be activated.
ActiveX components are not used.
Web statistics are produced by Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files stored on your computer, to help analyze how you use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will never associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to Google processing the data recorded about you in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Newsletters
Newsletters will only be sent out upon the express wish and permission of the customer. The processing and storage of the data supplied by newsletter recipients with their consent is subject to the specified statutory regulations. Each newsletter contains the option to correct, update and remove the provided data. Customers who no longer wish to receive the newsletter can communicate this under the link “unsubscribe”.

Please consult this Privacy Policy regularly as the ZVV reserves the right to modify the text at any time.
Legal instructions / Contact
You have the right to request information from us on the data we hold about you in our database and may ask us to correct, block or delete such data (c.f. pp 11, 17 and 19 of DSG). Requests should be directed to info@zvv.ch or, where the Privacy Policy of the ZVV Ticket Shop is concerned, to contact@zvv.ch. Please do not include any confidential information in your e-mail. We will respond to your request as fast as possible.
