When you travel by rail, tram, bus or boat within the ZVV network, you need to have a ticket. Among other options, this can be purchased at one of our many automatic ticket machines. As you have surely noticed, not all ticket machines look alike nor do they operate the same way. There are also differences in the range of available products. For instance, the latest ZVV ticket machines currently being tested will allow you to buy monthly travelcards and multiple tickets. The machines can also vary in terms of the means of payment: At certain ticket machines, you can only pay with coins while other machines accept banknotes or even plastic payment cards.
