Tickets for self-service loading of bicycles

  • As a general rule, accompanied bicycles are only carried if sufficient space is available in the vehicles.
  • The cycles must be loaded, unloaded and reloaded by the users themselves.
  • The options and conditions for the transportation of cycles are subject to the provisions of the individual transport companies as shown in the following Table.
  • Transport of dirty cycles may be refused if there is a risk that passengers and/or the vehicle would be contaminated

  • *also multiple-journey tickets or multiple day passes.
  • National half-fare or full-fare tickets must be purchased for the transport of bicycles beyond the area of the ZVV network. Transport is then valid for the route shown on the ticket.
  • With a Junior travelcard and the GA-Plus Familia, a cycle belonging to children aged from 6 to 16 is carried free of charge. Conditions: a family group must be travelling (including at least one parent) and the parents must have tickets for their cycles.
  • Two tickets are required for tandems, recumbent bicycles and tricycles.
  • Infants’ bicycles and childrens’ scooters are carried free of charge. Other conveyances which are easily carried, as well as dismantled and packaged cycles, are carried free of charge if they can be accommodated above or below the user’s seat.

S 4, Zurich Main Station–Sihlwald: carriage of cycles is permitted except on Mondays to Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

S 10, carriage of cycles is permitted except on Mondays to Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Carriage of cycles may be prohibited between Triemli and Uetliberg, or on parts of this route, if announced in advance.
