ZVV-BONUSPASS
Terms and conditions
General points
BonusPass, a product offered by Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV) and the company Z-Pass, is
issued under the following terms and conditions. BonusPass holders are hereinafter referred to as “
holders”.
- The BonusPass is a personal, non-transferable annual travelcard valid for travel in 1st or 2nd class. Holders are free to choose the first day of validity. If the order is received too late to allow the chosen day of validity to be granted, the BonusPass will be issued, without notice, with the next possible date of validity.
- The BonusPass is valid for 12 months on all public transport services and routes of the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV all zones) or the respective Z-Pass corridor (e.g. A-Welle – ZVV; all zones). It expires once the specified period of validity has elapsed.
- The BonusPass can also be issued in combination with a Half-Fare travelcard and/or Mobility CarSharing
Selling prices
- The selling price is calculated on the basis of the number of zones between the holder’s home and place of work (subject to the current ZVV or Z-Pass lists of connections) in accordance with the separate list of prices for the holder’s employer. In principle, the “all zones” tariff applies to employees who live outside the network or corridor in question.
- The number of zones between the holder’s home and place of work used for the purposes of calculating prices, and the resulting selling price, is set by the BonusPass service centre on the basis of the official ZVV or Z-Pass zone plan.
- Half-Fare travelcards offered in combination with the BonusPass are charged at the current price set by the SBB. The total price for the period of validity chosen for the Half-Fare travelcard (1, 2 or 3 years) must be paid when the order is placed or invoiced. Mobility CarSharing cards offered in combination with the BonusPass are charged in accordance with the currently applicable tariff.
- Prices will be adjusted in line with changes in the current tariff or price without notice. The price charged will be the price or tariff applicable on the first day of validity of the BonusPass.
- If the holder changes his or her place of residence within the area of coverage of the issued ZVV BonusPass or Z-BonusPass during the specified period of validity, this has no effect on the selling price already charged or the validity of the BonusPass.
Delivery, invoicing and payment
- The BonusPass will be delivered by post to the home address of the holder approximately two weeks after reception of a complete application authorised by his or her employer.
- The holder will be billed the price of his or her BonusPass in an invoice sent by separate post, which must be paid strictly net by the end of the month in which the invoice is issued using the enclosed paying-in slip. Vouchers and REKA cheques cannot be used as payment.
- Any queries as to the correctness of the invoice must be made in writing within ten days of receiving the invoice to the BonusPass service centre, failing which the customer is deemed to have accepted the correctness of the invoice.
- If the holder fails to pay the amount due within the specified period, the customary monthly late payment interest and fees will be charged. The sales organisations reserve the right to inform the holder’s employer about the failure to pay on time and, if necessary, to demand payment of the amount due from the employer.
Card loss
- The BonusPass can be replaced subject to a fee.
- Replacement cards can be ordered at any VBZ Ticketeria or SBB point of sale.
Replacement of damaged BonusPasses
- If, during the period of validity, it is ascertained that a BonusPass is damaged, it must be withdrawn from circulation and replaced. Damaged BonusPasses will be replaced only if all relevant details written on the card are still legible. A fee will be charged for replacing damaged BonusPasses.
Return and refund of BonusPasses
- The BonusPass can be returned if not used. Internal employer directives that prohibit the return of BonusPasses have precedence over this provision.
- One ninth of the selling price will be charged for each month the BonusPass was used. BonusPasses can be refunded up to the end of the eighth month of their validity. No refunds are possible from the ninth month of validity onwards. Only full months, no individual days, will be refunded. From the first day of use, fractions of a month count as a whole month.
- Half-Fare travelcards issued in combination with a BonusPass are subject to the current refund policy of Swiss Federal Railways SBB. Holders are not entitled to a refund on the Mobility CarSharing card issued in combination with their BonusPass.
- The BonusPass must be returned to the BonusPass service centre by registered post. The date of the postmark shall be taken as the date of return.
- The amount of the refund (in accordance with the refund guidelines of ZVV and the company Z-Pass, minus the usual administrative fees) will then be transferred to the holder’s bank or postal account within 30 days. No payments will be made in cash.
- Replacement BonusPasses will not be refunded.
Refunds for still valid ZVV travelcards and Half-Fare travelcards bought at normal rates
- On presentation of their new, valid combined BonusPass/Half-Fare travelcard, the holder can claim a pro rata refund on their existing standard price ZVV or Z-Pass and Half-Fare travelcard. Refunds will be granted in accordance with the current tariffs.
