Users of the ZVV-nighttime network must have two tickets:

Ticket 1: A valid ticket (e.g. ZVV ticket, GA etc.) from the point of departure to the destination. Tickets whose validity period is indicated by calendar day (e.g., ZVV 9 o’clock pass, 1-day travelpass for the Half-Fare travelcard, national and international tickets) remain valid until 5 a.m. the following day.

Ticket 2: A night supplement of CHF 5.00. It is available as a single supplement (by entering code *162 on conventional ticket machines or selecting the “night supplement” option on touch-screen ticket machines), as a combination of multiple supplements (CHF 27 for 6 supplements), available at points of sale, via the Ticket Shop or as an SMS (send “NZ” to 988, CHF 5.00/SMS).

GA, Half-Fare travelcards and other discount cards cannot be used for the supplement.

Important: existing night supplements already purchased for the individual fare networks (with the exception of Schaffhausen night supplements) will remain valid throughout the entire unified night supplement area following introduction of the new supplement on 10 December 2011. You can simply use up any remaining single and multiple supplements. The special offers from the various cantonal banks will continue to be limited to the respective cantons.

Purchasing tickets:
The ticket and night supplement must be obtained prior to boarding at ticket machines, ticket counters or by SMS. Please note: tickets and supplements cannot be purchased on board S-Bahn trains, VBZ vehicles and Winterthur city bus routes.
Please note: Passengers unable to produce both tickets will have to pay a surcharge along with the flat fare amount.
As during the day, a Track 7 travelcard is accepted only on nighttime S-Bahn train services operated by the SBB, THURBO and SOB. You must also additionally pay the night supplement.
