Masks are no longer mandatory on public transport
The Federal Council has decided to remove the last remaining coronavirus measures. As of 1 April 2022, the requirement to wear a mask on public transport will no longer apply in the ZVV area. Of course, passengers are free to continue wearing a mask on public transport if they wish to do so.
With the removal of the mask requirement, the transport operators have to adapt or remove various communication materials. This includes announcements on the train, signs in the vehicles or information displayed on screens. Due to technical reasons and the maintenance period of the vehicles the removal of labels and communication regarding the masks will not be completed before the end of April. Even in the vehicles that have not yet had their mask requirement notices removed, masks no longer have to be worn.
