S-Bahn

Overview of low-floor access in S-Bahn trains and stations in the ZVV

The Zurich S-Bahn fleet is constantly being modernised. The low-floor doubledecker trains of the 2nd generation (DTZ) and the doubledeckers of the 3rd generation (Regio-Dosto) make access by sliding steps on all doors easier. Since 2011, the SBB is fitting new low-floor doubledecker wagons (NDW) in the doubledecker trains of the 1st generation (DPZ).

Outpost stations

At about 25 outpost stations in the ZVV territory staff will assist passengers in wheelchairs upon advance reservation. With the support of the mobile lift you can access high-floor trains and also long-distance trains. The outpost stations are marked on the low-floor network plan (PDF, 515 KB) of the S-Bahn.

The support staff for the mobile lift is available daily from 7am to 11pm (exceptions upon consultation). Early reservation at the SBB Call Center Handicap is required: Tel. 0800 007 102. More information, also concerning the outpost stations, can be accessed at: www.sbb.ch/handicap .
