Tickets for dogs
Dogs travel at a reduced price in the ZVV. If you travel frequently with your dog throughout Switzerland, it is advantageous to buy a dog pass.
Small dogs up to 30 centimetres in height may travel free of charge in a basket or bag. Larger dogs require a reduced 2nd class ticket*.
Dog Pass
If you often travel with a dog, it's a good idea to buy a dog pass for CHF 350 per year. The dog pass is loaded onto the SwissPass. It allows a person to take a dog with them anywhere in Switzerland for one year. Please note that the pass is not issued to a dog, but to a person.
ZVV Dog Pass
The ZVV-NetzPass for dogs is issued to the dog and is therefore linked to the dog and not to a person. The dog can therefore be accompanied by any person with a valid ticket. This traveldcard is available at the sales outlets and is issued in paper format.

Notes
* 1st / 2nd class
Dogs always require a reduced 2nd class ticket or travelcard. If the accompanying person has a 1st class ticket, the dog may also travel in 1st class.
Loss / ticket inspection
The dog pass can be replaced for a fee if lost.
If you forget the dog pass at home and get inspected, you can present it at the counter within 10 days and pay only CHF 5 instead of the full inspection fee.
Local network
A local network covers a municipality (not including the cities of Zurich and Winterthur).
City zones
Travelcards for 1–2 zones are available for the cities of Zurich (zone 110) and Winterthur (zone 120).
