Ticket inspection
In Switzerland, anyone can easily board public transport without barriers. To ensure that all passengers contribute to the financing of public transport and that ticket prices remain fair and affordable, random ticket inspections are necessary. Here you can find information about the inspections and what happens if you are checked without a valid ticket.
Have you received a surcharge and have questions about it, or do you disagree with it? If so, please contact the back office responsible for ticket inspections. The contact details for this can also be found on your inspection slip.
‘Tickets, please’ campaign day on 8 September
Every year, ZVV’s public transport services lose at least CHF 80 million due to passengers travelling without a valid ticket. If you don’t buy a ticket, you are making others pay for you.
For this reason, ZVV will be holding a pre-announced inspection day for the first time on 8 September.
During the ‘Tickets, please’ campaign day, ZVV will be raising public awareness of ticket checks and demonstrating why they are necessary.
